What's the weather like in Abu Dhabi?

Abu Dhabi's weather offers guaranteed sunshine for most of the year, with temperatures around 20°C to 30°C between October to April, the weather is especially pleasant and is a haven for families when you're looking to escape the weather and get some sunshine.

During the summer months of June to September, temperatures can reach 40°C, however, Abu Dhabi has you covered. With some of the largest indoor theme parks in the world, the best chilled pools in the UAE and unlimited shaded areas for shopping and dining, you can be sure to enjoy the indoor entertainment.

What should I wear ?

You should wear lightweight and breathable clothing, loose-fitting garments made of natural fabrics such as cotton or linen to stay cool are ideal, especially during the summer months, Air-conditioning can often be very strong, so consider taking a light jacket or jumper if you're visiting the cinema.

Dress codes are generally more relaxed once you're inside a venue such as a nightclub or a bar, however, consider taking a pashmina or shawl to cover shoulders and knees, especially when travelling in public spaces or taxis.

Whilst attitudes are fairly liberal in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, try to be mindful of local customs and dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. 

Can I drink alcohol in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, you can drink alcohol in Abu Dhabi as long as you're aged over 21. It's perfectly acceptable to have a few Pina Coladas by the poolside or have a glass of wine with your dinner, alcohol is served in most hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs throughout Abu Dhabi and Dubai. If staff are unsure of your age, they may ask for ID.

Abu Dhabi offers a refreshing alternative to Dubai's bustling vibe, with its serene ambience and cultural richness. Moreover, it's a lot easier to get around and not as much traffic!
